WINNER: DrDoctor and Bradford Teaching Hospitals: Rheumatology Nurse Advice Line

The Nurse Advice Line has optimised patient access to specialist advice in the rheumatology department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals (BTH). Historically, the line was receiving calls that were not suited for specialist nurse advice, leading to extended wait times for patients needing care. BTH partnered with DrDoctor to transform the existing patient pathway with a view to reducing waiting times for clinical queries through efficient call redirection, enabling nurses to focus on urgent clinical queries.

Secondly, they introduced a digital form guiding patients to the appropriate booking services or self-examination tools, empowering patients to take an active role in self-management.
