WINNER: HTP Apprenticeship College Limited & Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare FT: Careers for Young People

Careers for Young People presents new pathways into hundreds of NHS careers and was developed by the NHS in partnership with HTP apprenticeship college as an answer to high levels of youth unemployment (8.4 per cent, 2022). The programme, for 16-24 year olds, starts with a six-month pre-apprenticeship in clinical or business services. On completion, the learner will progress onto an 18-month apprenticeship in a chosen field with preparation and options for further degree level training. Through the programme, 43 people have been added to the workforce ( >4 per cent total workforce) and 90 per cent of cohort 1 now hold substantive jobs within healthcare.
