WINNER: North West Anglia Foundation Trust and K2MS Digital Maternity Specialists: Digital Foetal Early Warning Score System (Digital FEWS) – Support to Deliver Saving Babies’ Lives Care Bundle Initiative in the NHS
The ambition was to understand how intrapartum stillbirth and brain injuries could be reduced, whilst incorporating the methodology into a digital maternity system. The challenges were to work cohesively as a team between consultants, midwives, anaesthetists and other maternity staff along with service users and to implement best practices with digital technology to achieve patient safety. Organisers say they would like to share learning from the study on the Digital Foetal Early Warning Scoring framework, which is developed to provide an early warning when changes occur during foetal monitoring, to achieve faster medical intervention for better outcomes.
