WINNER: NHS Wales in partnership with The Institute of Clinical Science and Technology: The NHS Wales Digital Respiratory Toolkit
Everyone focusing on doing the simple, high-value things in healthcare, dramatically improves health outcomes, said the winner. Adoption of policy at population level is seldom achieved and variation exists. This variation in respiratory medicine is evident in the NACAP audit, the Annual Reviews of Asthma Deaths and highlighted by patient advocate groups such as Asthma & Lung UK.
This digital toolkit integrates the stakeholder community delivering policy to patient and promotes best practice, reduces variation, improves patient outcomes, increases wellness, reduces inappropriate inhaler spending and reduces admissions to hospital and GP visits.
The toolkit has achieved full implementation across Wales, reaching 99 per cent of GP practices.
