WINNER: Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust: Reducing Health Inequalities Through the Sandbox Digital Mental Health Platform
The pandemic increased demand for mental health services for children and young people, increasing waiting lists, and making it even harder for CYP to access services. This particularly impacted CYP awaiting a diagnosis for neurodiversity, who also had mental health issues – these CYP have to navigate two lists and can be passed from one to the other without diagnosis or treatment.
The Sandbox (provided by Mindler) accepts direct referrals and uses engaging content, fronted by an avatar for communications – removing multiple barriers for all, especially neurodiverse CYP. Their clinical outcomes have even exceeded those of other CYP.
