The health secretary turns to a trusted tune but Sir David Nicholson doesn’t join in
Jeremy Hunt is copping a lot of flak at the moment from junior doctors.
So who would deny the health secretary a brief relapse to an area squarely within his comfort zone, for a bit of rest and recuperation away from the shot and shell of the contract row?
That’s right, Mr Hunt had a reassuring strum on the trusty health tourism ukulele recently, with an announcement that overseas patients would be charged for A&E treatment.
We’re sure he felt much better afterwards, but others were less impressed with the old tune.
Former NHS England Sir David Nicholson took to Twitter to complain: “Yet another zombie policy. NHS staff are not border guards.”
Best put that songbook away for a while, Jeremy.
