Sickle cell patients neglected by NHS, report claims

The serious health needs of 12,000 people with sickle cell disease in the UK are being neglected by the NHS because not enough is known about the condition or its treatment, according to a report published today by the National Confidential Enquiry into Patient Outcome and Death.
