Imperial College Healthcare Trust: The NOSH Project
Imperial College Healthcare Trust developed the NOSH Project – a three tier pathway to improve nutrition and hydration in patients with dementia. Two healthcare support workers were employed to implement the pathway. The project is now in place on 29 wards.
It has provided enhanced support to 450 patients.
Judges felt this project had tackled a fundamental challenge in the provision of healthcare. They were impressed with the clear evidence and improved outcomes and thought that it has the potential to be scaled up rapidly at minimal cost.
