During the pandemic we created a Covid Virtual Ward for Pennine Lancashire, an area of high social deprivation. This was an innovative, fast-paced, at scale, responsive primary/secondary care development. Using the power of partnership working and effective integrated care we improved patient health outcomes, while at the same time creating a climate of reassurance for everyone and reducing pressure on our over-burdened hospital services. Patient feedback has been consistently positive. We have created a sustainable model of integration which can help us innovate further in other areas of healthcare. Our model has been influential regionally and nationally.
