The elective recovery programme was struggling to reach pre-pandemic levels, which had an impact on the trust’s ability to deliver its activity plan, leading to long waits for surgery and an increased back log. In Q3, 2023/24, Model Hospital showed capped touch-time utilisation at Stockport FT to be the fourth worst in the country.

The Theatre Performance programme was launched in January 2024, initiating a deep dive into the real reasons behind lost productivity. The result was changes to practice and cultures.
