WORKFORCE: The Reverend Kevin Tromans has been appointed as the new lead chaplain at County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust. Rev Tromans has worked in hospitals since 1997 and replaces Rev Brian Selmes, who has retired.
“The chaplaincy team provides pastoral and spiritual support to patients, relatives and all within the hospital community,” he said. “Part of my new role as lead chaplain is to raise awareness that we’re here for everyone - patients, family and friends and staff throughout a patient’s time with us. Chaplains care spiritually: listening and offering reassurance, encouraging reconciliation, and providing specifically religious care when that is appropriate.”
