WINNER: Medstrom & Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust: Innovative Bedframe Solution to Mitigate Harm for Those With Mental And Physical Health Challenges

Considering the growing correlation between mental health and physical health challenges within the healthcare sector, the provision of suitable equipment has not kept pace to meet the service users’ needs. This project explores how organisations, notably Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, partnered with UK hospital bed manufacturer Medstrom to develop a bedframe which offers a solution to those challenges. By engaging with experienced clinicians and service users within the mental health environment, the Solo MH bed was launched. Via one unique platform, safety is optimised, whilst providing enhanced protection for both service users and caregivers.
