I have the qualifications below my signature that i gained from a Trust up North. The SHA obviously contributed financially to my masters degree in leadership. This was offered with no job at the end and i had hoped that by the time i had finished the masters a job may materialise. There was no job and as i had left my previous job as a Nurse and this had been filled, i found myself unemployed with the below qualifications and was the primary earner!

I had to move South for a post, and even then I could only secure a band 6. The Trust I am with totally under estimate the content and higher level of the degree and thus really have kept my progress under a tin lid! I feel undervalued and feel that it was a complete waste of time and money. At my appraisal last year it was suggested i attend the LEO course which i did. This was below my competency and i could have taught it! Demonstrating the lack of understanding of formal qualifications i feel!

Until leadership is understood by managers, and they can use our skills properly instead of being threatened by then, then i don't think practitioners expectations should be raised to expect better promotion in the work place because 3 years on, this has not happened.
