"Everyone I’ve spoken to is at a loss to explain why GM’s performance has been so poor, given the progress that’s been made on integration and the transformation investment that’s gone in".
There was never a business case or evidence that integration works in practice.
It was all wishful thinking.
But instead of transparency and the ability to identify weaknesses ,correct and learn there is a top down fix in place, which will not work . Leaders in these circumstances traditionally deny and plough on (kick the can down the road) , or resign.
