One answer here would seem to be for all areas to accelerate the significant money earmarked for community mental health services. It doesn't matter how many beds there are, there wont be enough if we arent looking after mental health needs of people with serious mental illness in the community proactively, rather than detaining and admitting them in crisis reactively. I understand that this investment should be commencing this year and it cant come soon enough.
