@Henry - Lockdown reduces the number of viruses in circulation, which reduces mutation rates and therefore makes newer 'variant's less likely.
The elderly are dying from this infection, which is why it is a good idea to vaccinate them.
Herd immunity development would mean allowing about half a million people to die. Please have your vaccination - if not for yourself then for everyone you come into contact with.
