The problem I see is as follows. While hospitals abide by social distancing restrictions they cannot work "at capacity" as they did prior to the pandemic. Covid cases could drop to zero but while social distancing is in place there will exist every excuse to keep us all in lockdown to "protect the NHS".

Consider also that when offered the vaccine, councils and hospitals are not allowing people to choose which vaccine. For example, I do not want the Turkish German Pfizer vaccine... I prefer the Oxford Astra-Zeneca one. I asked and was treated like this "you cannot choose". Well, if so, then I am not taking it. So other than those irrationally scared shoppers at supermarkets with eyes in their necks who flee the shelf if you get anywhere near to them (and many of them are also scared of the vaccine) who will voluntarily take the shot under these conditions.

It begs the question, how will we go back to a normal capitalist society when nurses, epidemiology academics and people in the government sectors are the heroes and those who voted Trump and are for home grown production are kept at home and called names. Particularly now as Biden has labelled success "social justice" and "climate change" and things that cannot be measured, sensibly argued about, all things which have nothing to do with either industry or profit.
