I couldn't agree more with what Jo has said. Involving staff is the most important thing for the Board but it must be all staff. There is a good correlation between the happiness of staff and happiness of patients. When staff feel integral part of the organisation they have sense of belonging and this is the time they contribute much more than expected.

Sadly it is very well known that BME staff are less well treated in our NHS. Bullying, harassment, victimisation, poor reward, poor promotion and poor leadership opportunity for BME staff and this is a sad reality which I hear day in and day out. The way staff are treated, staff feel says a lot about the Trust culture and leadership. This is why it is important to listen to the feedback of this important group of our NHS staff.
