Sir David Dalton, the former chief executive of Salford Royal Foundation Trust, spoke at an HSJ webinar on maintaining NHS staff wellbeing during the covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
Sir David Dalton led Salford Royal FT to consistently strong staff survey results as well as “outstanding” ratings from the Care Quality Commission.
Completing the panel were Kate Jarman, director of corporate affairs, Milton Keynes University Hospital Foundation Trust, and Bill Crothers, vice-chairman of Greensill, who supported the event. It was chaired by HSJ senior correspondent Annabelle Collins.
While staff wellbeing is a concern at all times, the covid-19 pandemic has of course represented an exceptionally challenging period for NHS staff and raised new questions about how organisations can best offer support. That notably includes on financial wellbeing.
Research shows that being concerned about finances is a common state of affairs for the majority of UK workers, regardless of income level, and that this impacts on performance.
Panellists discussed how best to support wellbeing during these difficult times and beyond.
The webinar took place at 10.30am on Thursday 16 July 2020. To view the on demand version – click here.
