Contribute to HSJ’s inquiry exploring what leadership the healthcare service needs now and in future
The HSJ Future of NHS Leadership inquiry has formally opened its public call for evidence.
The inquiry is exploring what leadership the healthcare service needs now and in the future. It comes 30 years after the seminal Griffiths report, which introduced general management to the NHS.
The inquiry members are keen to consider a wide range of perspectives. Therefore, in addition to inviting leading figures to give evidence at inquiry meetings, they are inviting public submissions from any and all interested parties.
“I hope people will be keen to respond for the public call for evidence,” said Sir Robert Naylor, chief executive of University College London Hospitals Foundation Trust and chair of the inquiry.
“Once again we find ourselves in an era in which the NHS requires fundamental change if it is to survive another 30 years. The conversations the inquiry panel have need to be wide, challenging, thought provoking and cause debate.”
Views can be shared through the inquiry’s evidence questionnaire, which when complete should be sent to inquiry secretary Claire Read at claire.read@emap.com. It is not necessary answer all questions, and additional evidence is welcomed.
Visitors to this week’s NHS Confederation annual conference in Liverpool will be able to complete the questionnaire at the HSJ stand, which is number A53 in the Arena Hall.
