The HSJ Awards – the most prestigious and fiercely sought after accolades in UK healthcare – will be revealed at an online ceremony from 5pm this afternoon.

The awards – believed to be the largest event of its kind in the world – will be hosted by British comedy legend Sir Lenny Henry and award-winning broadcaster Victoria Derbyshire. Registration to watch the Awards is free and over 5,000 people have already signed up.  

The 40th HSJ Awards will be the first to be broadcast online. The ceremony will feature guest appearances from Clare Balding, Gordon Brown, Dame Kelly Holmes, Adam Kay, Sadiq Khan, Alan Titchmarsh, Chris Whitty and many more famous faces.

There will also be two specially produced musical performances.

The shortlist for the HSJ Awards covers 24 categories, including acute trust, chief executive, clinical leader and mental health trust of the year.
