North West London AcuPebble Pathway for Straight-to-Test Obstructive Sleep Apnoea Diagnosis: Faster, Cheaper, Equitable, and Sustainable Diagnostic Modernisation
Patients with obstructive sleep apnoea wait up to two years for an NHS diagnostic test. Early diagnosis enables optimal treatment, mitigating risks including heart failure, lung disease and stroke. Current diagnostic approaches are expensive (£450), time-consuming, uncomfortable (cables/tubes/wires), and inequitable (multiple hospital visits). The winner’s sector has overcome all of these challenges through the highly disruptive and innovative North West London straight-to-test diagnostic pathway – modernised using automated AcuPebble technology. Within only six months the pathway has demonstrated exceptional clinical, health economic, health equity, workforce, and sustainability outcomes – and is now funded as the new standard of care.
