London Ambulance Service Trust: Wellbeing Hub
The London Ambulance Service Wellbeing Hub, established in 2020 as a reactive approach to covid, has evolved post-pandemic into a proactive, staff-led service overseen by the substantive Wellbeing Team. Organisers say they recognised the huge risk of burnout and moral injury in the UK’s busiest ambulance service – staff needed something bespoke that made a tangible difference to their wellbeing. As a result, an inclusive, sustainable model of delivery was developed whereby colleagues on restricted duties can join the hub in temporary wellbeing roles while recovering from injury or illness, hugely increasing the capacity to support colleagues in person across London. The judges said that adapting staff processes and addressing real issues demonstrated innovation and a win-win solution.
