University Hospital Southampton: Quality and Patient Safety Partner Programme

The trust’s ambition, expressed through its values and strategy, is to put patients at the heart of safety and quality improvement. It designed its quality and patient safety partners programme to truly embed the patient voice into all of its systems and processes.

In 2022 it recruited six QPSPs who have co-designed how they work with the trust in patient safety and improvement, as well as developing their own projects and increasing diversity with recruitment of a six further QPSPs in 2023. “They are a positive, disruptive force, constructively directing and reshaping our quality and safety culture.”
