Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board: Primary Care Quality Assurance Toolkit

The project transformed a commissioning assurance process into a digital toolkit which enables improvements in patient safety and quality of general practice. By completing this self-assessment toolkit, practices can demonstrate compliance against regulated activities and patient safety standards for the practice, Care Quality Commission and ICB. The toolkit includes:

  • 11 domains of quality and safety
  • Offer of additional support from ICB and external specialists
  • Awareness of updated national guidance and local CQC themes
  • Links to CQC Mythbusters
  • Ideas for improvement and innovation.

Self-assessment increases ownership and accountability, encouraging practices to look at their own systems and processes to improve patient safety.
