This year’s HSJ Awards ceremony is being moved from November to March because of the covid pandemic.
The award winners will now be revealed on 17 March. The entry deadline has been extended to 18 September.
HSJ editor Alastair McLellan said: “The HSJ Awards provide an unequalled opportunity to recognise and celebrate excellence in the NHS. However, we have concluded that both the likely covid restrictions on social gatherings and the demand on the service as it enters the winter period mean that it would be sensible to delay the awards’ ceremony.
“This will be the first time since the launch of the Awards in 1981 that we will have missed a year. However, we hope and believe that March’s ceremony will be an even greater celebration of the service’s excellence and innovation during what has been arguably the most testing time in its history.”
The HSJ Awards team will be contacting those who have already submitted entries in the next few weeks.
