Frontloading would be helpful but realistically the £8b was far too small and the figure should have been at least double this. Expectations of the NHS need to be lowered if proper funding is not supplied. Furthermore the FYFV sets a framework of better working together but it won't actually save any money. Real cuts in hospital infrastructure will take many years if indeed it is possible (we have less beds now than some countries who have gone down this route) and way beyond the life of this parliament. Lets get real.
