The aim is to challenge the NHS – its workforce, leaders and patients – to think about how to introduce and support change ideas that come from all levels.

Challenge Top Down Change is a three month campaign by HSJ, our sister title Nursing Times and our partner organisation NHS Improving Quality.

In large organisations, change is often delivered in a top-down way, but we believe that drawing ideas from a wider pool of people can only enhance the transformation process and lead to better solutions to everyday and complex problems that the NHS is facing.

With the help of the crowdsourcing platform Clever Together we are seeking views on how to achieve and support bottom-up change in the NHS.

Collective brilliance

We will structure our campaign in three stages.

First, we will ask for your ideas on how to enable meaningful and implementable change in the NHS.  All ideas will be shared anonymously.

Next, we’ll ask you to help us filter the best ideas (by voting them up or down and by commenting directly).

Finally, in March, we’ll publish the best solutions in a free interactive guide.

Get involved. Let’s discover what the collective brilliance of the NHS can deliver.

Go to the crowdsourcing platform. The site can be accessed from any computer or mobile device at any time and all comments and ideas shared are anonymous and so treated equally. You will recive an invitation email with login details to take part.

Or you can email your suggestions to changechallenge@emap.com
