Scouse School

Internationally recruited healthcare professionals contribute significantly to the NHS’s ability to deliver high-quality care to patients in Merseyside and across the UK. Moving to a new country presents many challenges. These include difficulty in orientating, feeling isolated, missing family and friends, cultural differences, language barriers and understanding local accents.

A group of Scouse and adopted Scouse NHS colleagues got together to create Scouse School, which supports internationally recruited colleagues to gain a better understanding of Liverpool’s rich history, culture, people, language, colloquialisms, and accents to help them to stay and thrive.
